Our Black Label honor is only bestowed upon our wine when we believe it has earned the right to be called the Best of the Best. We have only produced 3 vintages of our Family Reserve Black Label in the last 15 years, in 2013, 2016 and now 2018. Below is description of this amazing wine:

A massive full bodied wine from Spoto Wines. This. Is. Classic. Oakville. This wine is aged in 100% new French Oak for 52 months. On top of that, this is a single barrel production and the third Family Reserve Cabernet produced by Spoto Wines. You would think that 52 months in barrel would overpower the flavor profile or even possibly add an unsavory character, but the flavor profile is big and balance, the palate is big, the nose is big...heck, even the bottle is big and the label is quite commanding. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot. Like all Spoto Wines, this is Oakville wine made in the Classic style. This wine would be a formidable force and a great matchup for any table and in just about any setting. From initial observation, this wine would go with a rare porterhouse steak, ribeye, pork tenderloin, or even seafood and game. Bottle decanted for about 6 hours. Nose is chalky youthful black cherry fruit. Entry of this wine is dense, mouth coating, youthful. Mostly black cherry density here, but I am getting black licorice and even a little bit of sweet blackberry that I don't usually get with these wines. A very tiny hint of soy sauce and grilled meat toward the back end. . This wine is so powerful and dense that I can just see the future as this: all of these flavors are going to combine and integrate in the next 7 to 10 years and really showcase the epitome of this Oakville wine.
